A pilot that turns mycelium material into climbing holds and shows the material in use.
How could visitors understand an unfamiliar material and explore it as a real product? I designed and implemented one flow connecting MAD's brand story, three pilots, commerce, and operational tools.
MAD®MYCELIUM / MATERIAL STUDYMycelium was unfamiliar to many MAD visitors. Explaining its value alone would not show where it could be used or what a visitor could choose.
I structured the journey from brand introduction to tangible pilots, a shop for evaluating products, and tools for ongoing operations. Each screen helps visitors move from understanding to action.
Texture and product photography lead the brand experience.
Large images of the material's surface and finished objects work with short copy to guide the page. MAD's vivid blue and experimental materiality take the place of conventional green sustainability imagery.

The pilots show how the material can extend into objects and spaces with different uses.

Panels for interiors and spaces, showing the material's range beyond a single product.

Custom objects that help brands and designers imagine new applications for the material.
I built product exploration and operational flows so visitors could act after understanding the brand and seeing the pilots.
I implemented product listing and detail views, saved items, cart, and checkout entry, along with admin views for product and order status. Cart selections persist between visits. The public experience and internal tools use a common product structure.
Real material images and short messages shape the first impression
Three pilots show different applications
Products, options, saved items, and cart create a purchase path
Admin tools manage product and order information
The public Shop announces a future drop. Commerce and admin features described here are implemented in the repository; they are not evidence of completed sales.
My role extended beyond implementing the final screen. I turned the brand message into an order of understanding, organized pilots as product directions, and connected purchase and management structures.
This case distinguishes the public brand website from the implemented product structure and shows my work from planning through design and development.
